SHORE EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATIVE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS!
July 2025 marks fifty years of Shore. As we mark this milestone anniversary, we`re launching a yearlong celebration that reflects who we are and what we value. We will be celebrating throughout the year with special activities, including a Time Capsule Project and a 50 Acts of Kindness challenge. And we look ahead to a Spring 2026 celebration for all. This is a moment to honor the past and look ahead with pride and purpose.
We’re incredibly proud of the exceptional students, individuals, families, and staff (past and present!) who make Shore what it is, and we invite everyone to join us as we celebrate 50 years of Shore!

One of our favorite things to do is to go out and enjoy our communities. Sometimes that means visiting our community library, volunteering at a local food pantry, or exploring other places to have great experiences!
This week, our Chelsea Adult Services CBDS Individuals took a trip to Boston to visit the New England Aquarium and then took a walk to Faneuil Hall for lunch and shopping. Everyone had a great time!

This past week, we honored seventeen staff members from both Student Services and Adult Services who participated in a rigorous interpretation skills training program to provide the best multilingual support to Shore programs.
Partnering with Activating Language Access, these staff members have been professionally trained to provide interpretation services to families throughout the organization. Some of the languages represented are: Spanish, Haitian Creole, Somali, Arabic, and French.
Congratulations to our newly trained staff members!

This week our Peabody program had some special visitors! Goldy`s Farm Animal Sanctuary in Ipswich stopped by with dogs, donkeys, and a zebu. We were able to pet all of the animals and even give them some treats. We were all fascinated by Elvis the zebu from Africa. He is still the talk of the building. We can`t thank Goldy`s Farm enough for this incredible experience. We hope they come back and see us again soon.

Last week CBDS groups from all 3 adult sites started volunteering with Connor`s Kindness Project. @connorskindnessproject is a non-profit that assembles and fills Kindness Kits. The kits are delivered to children in hospitals and shelters and are meant to be entertaining, comforting, and fun for children in challenging situations. Our group packed 56 boxes in about half an hour. We will be volunteering once a week with CKP. We are so excited to be working alongside CKP and spreading smiles and kindness!
